A Masjid has been set on fire and torched to the ground shortly after Trump’s controversial executive order banning Muslims from entering the U.S.
The Victoria Mosque in Texas, U.S is the only Mosque in the area.
What is surprising is that this cruel act of arson which was intended to fuel tension and cause division and antipathy amongst the people, has had the opposite effect.
It has brought people of all faiths together in support of the Muslims and their right to worship and have a place of Worship.
The outpouring of sympathy and support has been unprecedented.
The Texas community including Christians, Jews has come together to raise money for the re-building of the Masjid.
So far more than $1 million has been raised and the donations are still adding up.
Young children from the nearby Catholic school formed a human chain of love and peace around the mosque and donated a tree to be planted on the grounds of the new mosque when it is constructed.
The Jewish people gave the Muslims the keys to the their Synagogue so that they could have a place to continue worshipping.
The President of the Synagogue of Bani Israel, Robert Loeb was quoted as saying “When a calamity like this happens, we have to stand together”.
What a selfless act? May Allah reward them all for their generosity of spirit and love towards their fellow men.
And hold fast, all together, by the rope which God (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude God’s favor on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth God make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided (The Glorious Quran 3:103)
What is even more surprising than the unity of the good people of Victoria, Texas is this one final miracle. The fire burned for hours, engulfed and collapsed the Mosque bringing down brick and mortar but the Holy Quran written on paper did not burn. Subhanallah.
